Tangra is in east Kolkata, between Topsia and Beliaghata, close to the EM Bypass. It is known as the city's Chinatown, where Hakka Chinese families ran tanneries for generations and where some of Kolkata's well-known Indo-Chinese restaurants still line the lanes.
